Create a Board Game
After doing a little research into Shakespeare's life/theater, his works, and/or the Elizabethan age, you will create an original board game.
The Process:
1. Decide which topic(s) you'll research. (see link below to the Elizabethan Daily Times for ideas)
2. Gather information on these Shakespeare-related areas through the internet, etc.
3. Set a goal/purpose and decide on a theme for your game. You'll need to decide how a player progresses in your game, and how he/she wins.
4. Develop questions/facts to be used in your game, and decide when and where in the game's playing these items will be used. REMEMBER, playing the game should take more than just a couple of minutes, and the game must be heavily connected to and based on your topic.
5. Sketch out a plan for the playing surface, cards, etc. Give this and some sample questions to your teacher to check your progress and make suggestions.
6. Make the playing surface, pieces, cards, box, and rules. Keep in mind that playing pieces should reflect the theme of the game. Like any good game, yours should store completely in its own box or container.
7. Have your friends or family test the game for three key factors: Information about your topic, playability, and FUN. After receiving their advice, make necessary changes to your game.
8. Demonstrate your game to your class.
